If three shoppers ask the same question, fix the product page
'Will my laptop fit?' is a buying decision. Answer it once on the page, then make the missing measurement part of the product information.
The backpack's outer dimensions are listed. The customer needs the laptop sleeve dimensions. They ask by email. A second customer calls. A third leaves without asking.
Product Q&A can make the answer available to the next shopper. Its bigger value is showing what your product information is missing. A question that repeats should become a better description, specification or guide, not just another entry in a growing queue.
Reviews and buying questions have different jobs
A review describes an experience. “Will a 16-inch laptop fit?” is a request for evidence before purchasing. Forcing it into a star-rating form gives neither the customer nor the next reader the right structure.
A dedicated Q&A feature gives the store a place to answer, staff a moderation workflow and the asker a way to hear back. It also creates work; decide who will own it before opening the form.
Answer precisely enough to support a decision
Avoid “it should fit most laptops”. Measure the usable sleeve and state any relevant limitation, such as device thickness or a narrow opening. An illustrative answer might provide width, height and depth and tell the customer to compare the device including its case.
Use evidence you have checked. If the supplier has not confirmed compatibility, say what is known and obtain the missing information. A confident guess can create a return.
Our Product Q&A module supports store answers and optional moderated customer answers, with approved FAQ items shown first. Store answers should remain distinguishable from customer suggestions.

Moderate before the page becomes the spam target
Guest questions wait for review. The module also uses layered controls including a honeypot, rate limits and optional Magento reCAPTCHA integration. URL-containing submissions are held for review even where automatic publishing is enabled.
If the store sits behind a proxy or CDN, verify that Magento receives the real visitor IP for rate limiting. Otherwise many customers can accidentally share one limit. Moderation is still required; technical controls do not judge whether an answer is accurate or useful.
Assign notification recipients and a practical response target. Track how long questions remain unanswered, not simply how many were submitted. A visible queue with no replies can discourage a buyer who was looking for reassurance.
Give useful answers a second job
Mark recurring, verified questions as FAQ and place the answer prominently. Then update the product attribute or description where it belongs. If the answer is a manual or size chart, provide the attachment instead of asking staff to send it repeatedly.
Customer deletion also needs a process. The module's documented behaviour does not automatically remove names and emails from existing questions when an account is deleted. Include those records in applicable privacy-request handling.
Don't buy Q&A for an obsolete search promise
Google's FAQ rich result feature has been retired. Q&A still helps customers, but the visible answer and its accuracy are the asset. See what FAQ structured data now does and doesn't promise before making schema your purchase justification.
Open the Product Q&A demos and run a question through submission, staff answer, approval and notification. Assign the first response to a named person before opening the form to shoppers.
